Completing a Computer Based Training Class

The following is the sequence of events when an employee elects to take a Computer Based Training (CBT) class.

  1. From the Actions section>Employee card the employee selects the Computer Based Training option.
  2. The employee clicks on the icon of the desired CBT class. The class is automatically launched and the employee is connected by the CBT path to the class.
  3. The employee completes the CBT class.
  4. A download sends the CBT information to the system. Each CBT is linked to a Course/Competency record.
  5. Education Qualification processing is run, which updates the class information to the employee record. The system compares the employee's score to the Minimum Score required by the CBT, to determine if the employee has successfully completed the class.
  6. The CBT transaction details can be viewed in the employee record on the Education Transactions screen.
  7. The Education Requirement processing is run, which compares the employee courses/competencies completed with those that are required, based on the employee labor distribution, position, etc.
  8. The Education Summary in the employee record displays the employee requirements and whether they have been met.
