Convention

Meaning

Boldface type

Boldface type is used to indicate items in the program that you click or check/uncheck. Example: Click Save.

Initial Capital Letter

The first letters of the names of windows, dialog boxes, windows elements, and commands are capitalized. Example: In the Save As dialog.

Navigation (>)

Moving to other screens is shown as Configuration > System Settings. This means to click the Configuration option. Then click System Settings.

Interchangeable terms

Similar terms are used interchangeably throughout the guide. Examples: employees and staff, department and organization unit, or shift and schedule (the time an employee works, not the complete 4- or 6-week schedule).

The Schedule Incentive feature has been renamed in Staffing and Scheduling version 09.00.01 (previously called Schedule Bidding) to better reflect its purpose. While the term incentive does have a verb form, incentivize, it will not be used often.

The following table describes the usage of the term incentive and compares it to previous versions.
