Set the Organization Unit Indicator

For each participating organization unit, there is one indicator you need to set to enable the organization unit. If you are using an abbreviation to identify the organization unit in broadcasts, there is also a parameter you can set, which is where you provide the abbreviation to use.

• Indicator, Mobile Device Standard 1: Enables Open Shift Notification for the organization unit
• Parameter, Mobile Device Standard Alpha 1: The organization unit's abbreviation that appears in broadcast messages

  The abbreviation only appears in the broadcasts if you set the SYS application indicator to display it. For more information, see Set the SYS Application Indicator.

To enable Open Shift Notification for the organization unit and to set the abbreviation, complete the following steps.

1. Navigate to Configuration section > Organization Unit card > Organization Unit screen.
2. Search for and open the desired organization units.
3. Click the Indicators tab and expand the Mobile Device Communications card.
4. In the Mobile Device Standard 1 field, select Y.
5. Optional. To add an organization unit abbreviation, do the following:
   1. Click the Parameters tab and expand the Mobile Device Communications card.
   2. In the Mobile Device Standard Alpha 1 field, enter the organization unit's abbreviation as you want it to appear in broadcast messages.
6. Click Save.
