Staffing Configuration - Request to Work tab

In the Staffing Configuration screen, the Request to Work tab is used to set the parameters that determine the "Request to Work Period" when employees in the labor distribution are able to submit a request to work. The selection style used when validating scheduling rules when an employee adds a new request to work and/or a supervisor approves the request are determined on this screen as well.

To set up this screen, complete the following:

  1. From the Configuration section>Scheduling card, open the Staffing Configuration screen. Use the search screen to locate the record to be set up for the Request to Work feature.
  2. Click on the Request to Work tab.
  3. Enter the Request to Work Begin Days value to determine the minimum number of days after the current date that can be included in the search for an available schedule. If this value is set to 0, employees can submit a request to work for available schedules on the current date.
  4. Enter the Request to Work End Days value to determine the maximum number of days after the current date that can be included in the search for an available schedule.
  5. In the Request to Work Selection Style field, enter the selection style to be used when validating rules when an employee requests a listed schedule and when a supervisor approves a requested schedule. For example, the selection style may validate that the employee will not go into overtime, has a minimum rest interval, etc. The options available are previously set up on the Selection Styles configuration screen with the Type of Edit Validation.
