Organization Unit Parameters

Organization Unit parameter settings determine the minimum and maximum number of days before the start date of a class that employees are allowed to enroll. These days pertain to an employee's home labor distribution.

Employees are able to enroll in the class (or submit an enrollment request) during the time frame defined by these two values. If they try to enroll in a class earlier or later than these parameters allow, a message is generated.

Note: Default indicator and parameter values can be set up under the Configuration section> System card> Indicators and Parameters> Default Value fields. If these are set up, all new organization units automatically receive these values unless they are changed for a specific organization unit. These default values must be set up before the organization units are created.

To set Organization Unit values, complete the following steps:

  1. From the Configuration section> Organization Unit card open the Organization Unit screen.
  2. Use the search criteria to locate and open the organization unit record to be set up.
  3. Click the Parameters tab, then open the Education Tracking card.
  4. Set the value for Organization Unit Parameter ED Solution Standard Integer 8 to determine the minimum number of days before the class date that the employee is able to enroll.
  5. Set the value for Organization Unit Parameter ED Solution Standard Integer 9 to determine the maximum number of days before the class date that the employee is able to enroll.

Note: Values can be set at a highest (corporate) organization unit level, and can then be overridden at a lower organization unit. For example, values can be set at the highest level, and then certain trunk levels (e.g. facilities) can have values entered that will override the corporate values for employees with that home facility.
