Enter Clocking Using Quick Badge

You can use Quick Badge in two ways in Time and Attendance.

  • Logon screen
  • Quick Badge section

This guide provides basic information and does not cover every situation or setup possibility. For additional assistance, contact your manager or supervisor.

Logon Screen

If it is available and set up in your system, you can select Quick Badge Only on the log on screen. This allows you to quickly enter a clocking. However, you cannot manually add a grant or project to your clocking using this method. This method only works when you have a grant or project code attached to your home labor distribution or an Auto Labor Distribution.

Quick Badge Section

  1. In Time and Attendance, click the Quick Badge section.
  2. Enter the clocking details as you normally do or enter a Quick Code.

For more information about Quick Codes, see the Quick Note after the following image.

  3. If you do not use a Quick Code, select a grant code or project code from the Field Look Up Values.

Your organization can name the grant or project field, so look for fields that somehow relate to a grant or project.

  4. Click Save.

The previous image shows the user-defined prompts for projects (Project) and grants (Enter Grant Code), as configured in Transaction Definitions. These prompts may not be the same as those found on screens that cannot be configured, such as the TCS screen.

Quick Code Note

When using a Quick Code while badging in, you only need to enter the Quick Code value and the system will identify the organization unit, job class, and other labor distribution information, including a grant or project, for that work assignment. This saves you time and effort when clocking at a badge reader or using the Quick Badge feature.

Example: You have a Quick Code to indicate when you work on a grant or project. When badging in for standard, non-grant or project time, badge as normal. For grant or project time, enter the Quick Code when badging.
