Set Up Quick Codes

When using a Quick Code while badging in, the employee only needs to enter the Quick Code value and the system will identify the organization unit, job class, and other labor distribution information, including a grant or project, for that work assignment. This saves the employee time and effort when clocking at a badge reader or using the Quick Badge feature.

You can create any number of Quick Codes. However, for the purpose of this guide, the following example provides a typical situation.

Example: Employees can have a Quick Code to indicate when they are working on a grant or project. When badging in for standard, non-grant or project time, badge as normal. For grant or project time, enter the Quick Code when badging.

If you do not download Quick Codes, you can create them by completing the following steps.

  1. Search for and open the employee's record.
  2. Under Employee Sections, click Quick Codes.
  3. Under Quick Code Actions, click Add.
  4. Complete the desired fields for the Quick Code, including the Grant Code or Project Code field.
  5. Click Save.

    This new record is added to the listing of valid Quick Codes for the employee. When the employee uses a badge reader or the Quick Badge feature, the code will appear in the Quick Code menu.
