General

The General button opens a screen to configure basic information about the Position, including number, organization unit assignment, job code, etc. After completing this page click on the Factor and/or License section buttons to configure additional information for this position record.

If available, Indicator and/or Parameter tabs open screens to view settings that determine processing rules specific to the open record. Note: For more information, see the Configuration section>System card>Indicators screen and/or Parameters screen.

The Audits tab opens a screen to view an audit trail on additions, edits, and deletions to the open record.

Depending on the page displayed, the following fields may be available:

Active

Indicates whether this position code is currently being used by the system and can be assigned (Yes/No).

Position codes that are no longer valid but have been previously assigned cannot be deleted from the system. This is to maintain historical integrity of data. A position code can be deactivated by setting this value to NO, so it can no longer be assigned.

Code

The short, alphanumeric name or abbreviation identifying this position.

Position code naming conventions often include organization and job class code values.

Description

The label describing the position code.

Number

Numeric value identifying the position code.

Organization Unit

Enter the appropriate organizational codes for this position. The corporate structure determines the organization level where position codes are set up, and also the number of levels and label names available.

Job Class Code

The job class associated with this position code.

Grant Code

The identification code of the grant associated with this position, if applicable.

Project Code

The identification code of the project associated with this position, if applicable.
