Set the Override Code Indicator

An override code is used by supervisors to indicate conditions where the normal processing of rules needs to be changed (overridden) with different or additional processing.

For the Lunch Attestation feature, the No Lunch override code is used. A supervisor will use this code to correct a situation where an employee clocks out and incorrectly states that they did not take a lunch break when they actually did. Instead of removing the incorrectly applied No Lunch special code, the supervisor can add the No Lunch override code to the final out clocking so that pay is calculated correctly and the Lunch Attestation records are accurate.

If you do not have a No Lunch override code set up, request assistance by contacting API Healthcare Workforce Management Client Support by creating a case on Client Connections. There are many indicators and parameters that need to be set correctly for your organization and it is beyond the focus of this guide.

Keep in mind that you are setting the No Lunch override code to be used when you need to override an incorrectly applied No Lunch special code. The override code does not remove the special code, but it does prevent the processing that would have occurred with the special code.

To set the indicator on an existing No Lunch override code, complete the following steps.

  1. Navigate to Configuration section > Time and Attendance card > Override screen.
  2. Using the appropriate parameters, search for and open the desired No Lunch override codes.
  3. Click the Indicators tab and then open the Calculations Process card.
  4. Click in the Calculations Standard 39 field and then select Y from the Field Look Up Values list.
  5. Click Save.
  6. If you opened more than one override code record, click the arrow to move to the next record and then repeat steps 3 - 5.
