Set the Activity Code and Pay Code Indicators

There are three activity code and three pay code indicators that affect how information is displayed on the Current Staffing Overview. Set the indicators to define which activity codes and pays codes count toward the Last Called In, Last Called Off, and Last On Call columns. The indicators also determine which activity codes and pay codes are used by the On Call filter.

In addition, there is another activity code indicator that needs to be set. This is most likely set already for the activity codes in your system, but for certain features to work, such as the caregiver-to-patient ratio (see Set the Profile Indicators), it must be set on the activity codes that count toward coverage.

Activity code indicators

To set the activity code indicators, complete the following steps.

  1. Navigate to Configuration section > Scheduling card > Activity Code screen.
  2. Search for and open the appropriate activity codes.

    The appropriate activity codes are those that you consider called in, called off, and on call activity codes.

  3. Click the Indicators tab and then expand the Staffing and Scheduling card.
  4. For each of the indicators, select Y or N.
  5. Click Save.

Pay code indicators

To set the pay code indicators, complete the following steps.

  1. Navigate to Configuration section > Time and Attendance card > Pay Code screen.
  2. Search for and open the appropriate pay codes.

    The appropriate pay codes are those that you consider called in, called off, and on call pay codes.

  3. Click the Indicators tab and then expand the Staffing and Scheduling card.
  4. For each of the indicators, select Y or N.
  5. Click Save.
